MAC Allaeys, a trusted name in metalwork

MAC Allaeys has been guaranteeing strong metal structures ever since 1993. We specialise in the erection of buildings and installations for SMEs and companies in the agricultural and industrial sectors throughout Belgium.

The buildings and structures are used for various purposes, such as warehouses, workshops, storage space and garage buildings. Our many years of experience and our well-considered approach mean that we enjoy taking on any challenge!

All of our buildings consist of a primary structure made from metal. We cover this with all manner of materials, such as sheet steel, prefabricated concrete slabs or wood. There are a huge number of options and we deliver everything watertight and windtight (framework). Using the same construction technique, we are also active in the home construction and renovation sector.

Are you curious about our qualities and all the options available?

/ A strong presence in the Port of Antwerp

Antwerp is a global port located centrally in Europe with multi-modal connections and maritime access. The port is very sought after by companies – every square metre is occupied and the occupation limit has been reached. The Flemish Government is currently working on creating additional container handling capacity in the Antwerp port area (ECA) in order to be able to cope with the anticipated growth in container traffic by 2030.

“Despite the coronavirus crisis, the port has continued to operate at full speed. There has been absolutely no sign of stagnation. All of the companies here share a great pride and sense of solidarity. In order to be ready for the future, it is wise for companies to ensure that their buildings are in perfect condition, allowing them to work efficiently and safely. I can only applaud the fact that there are experienced specialists such as MAC Allaeys who can guide companies in this endeavour.” Rob Smeets, COO Port of Antwerp contact person.

/ Our approach

In all our projects, we take a methodical, step-by-step approach:

Intake meeting & analysis
We take all the time necessary to get to know you and your project. We look with you at the prior history, stability, technical elaboration and construction details of your project. After all, a good start is half the work!

Design & consultation
Based on the analysis, we draw out everything using construction software made by Tekla Structures. In this way, we can give you a clear picture (in 3D) of what your project will look like. You will get the chance to give us extensive feedback. This is how together we arrive at the best design.

Timing & budget
At the start of each project, we draw up a detailed schedule and budget. We make it a point of honour to deliver all of our projects within the stated schedule and budget.

Construction process & delivery
After the design, budget and schedule have been approved, we start the construction or renovation work. All of the steel structures are made in our workshops by our skilled professionals and they are then erected. In conjunction with our fixed team of subcontractors, we do the utmost to successfully complete your project.

Throughout the project, we remain your fixed and trusted point of contact for any questions or comments. We are also ready to assist you after completion.

/ Case Study: Vesta Terminal Antwerp

Vesta Terminal Antwerp is a logistics building in the Port of Antwerp that provides tanker terminals for the storage and transport of crude oil, petrol and chemicals. There are many steps, landings and rails in dockyards and it is essential that all of these structures are extremely sturdy and durable. Metal structures by MAC Allaeys are the perfect solution for this.

“We’ve been working with MAC Allaeys for a long time. We regularly bring them in for small and large projects and soon they will be refurbishing berths for ships. The thing I greatly appreciate is that they are immensely helpful. They listen to our needs and give honest and feasible advice. Martin, the manager, who is an engineer himself, often comes over to the site and looks at the best possible custom solution with us. MAC Allaeys is our trusted construction partner – with them, we know we can sleep soundly.”

/ Case Study: Waasland Automotive

As an all-round automotive company, Waasland Automotive aims to guarantee mobility to its customers in all senses of the word. It is a well-known Ford and Mazda dealer and has an accessories shop and 2 tyre centres in the Waasland region. Waasland Automotive recently carried out a renovation project with MAC Allaeys at their facility in Sint-Niklaas. A hangar measuring more than 2300 m2 was stripped to its basic structure and then refitted with insulation and cladding. The original intention was to use this building for storing cars. However, it has since become a multifunctional workshop and delivery zone.

“Throughout the project, the staff at MAC Allaeys gave us excellent guidance. They worked meticulously. For instance, they fitted extra facade cladding and CCTV cameras. They contacted all of the subcontractors and coordinated the construction process from beginning to end. We had total peace of mind! We already have some new plans to divide our garage into compartments. We feel fully confident about calling on MAC Allaeys again to help with this!”

/ Case Study: DFDS Seaways

DFDS Seaways is a logistics service provider and the largest shipping company in Northern Europe. The DFDS Mercator Dock Multimodal Terminal has direct access to the Ghent-Terneuzen canal which makes it an ideal location with good connections to motorways and the railway network. They offer various services at their 250,000 m2 terminal in the Port of Ghent, such as loading and unloading of cargo ships, trains and lorries. MAC Allaeys was involved with the construction of the automated gates for access control.

“MAC Allaeys devised, designed, manufactured and installed the entire structure. They provided a detailed preparation and also foresaw the possibility of fitting solar panels to the metal structure. We are the first of the 8 DGFS locations where automated access gates are being used. These gates have a capacity of 1500 gate moves per hour, which is a third more than the previous gates. This was not the first occasion we had worked with MAC Allaeys. I have known them for a long time and I am pleased to work with them. The lines of communication at MAC Allaeys are good and they respond rapidly. We are currently working on a new project to expand our current warehouse with a canopy over the railway tracks and a fire wall. In this way, with MAC Allaeys, we will make our site even more efficient and safe.”
